Merging and an Anniversary

KL® megla GmbH and Classtec GmbH merge to form KL® megla GmbH. Jörg Loggen leaves the management. KL® megla GmbH celebrates its 100th anniversary.

Founding KL® megla GmbH

By KARL & JÖRG LOGGEN and PETER REINECKE. The company is the marketing and sales company for ‚KL® Beschläge Karl Loggen GmbH’ and ‚KL® megla Technik GmbH’ (merged with ‚KL® megla GmbH’). With the help of Peter Reinecke and Jörg Loggen two small companies become a global group of companies.

KL® Beschläge

JÖRG LOGGEN joins ‚KL® BESCHLÄGE’. Similar to Peter Reinecke, the butcher master Jörg Loggen complies with his father's request and takes over a 25% share of 'KL® Beschläge'. He also developed marketing concepts and expanded the company's customer base. The early beginnings of his father are followed by continuous growth, so that in 1995 'KL® Beschläge Karl Loggen GmbH' finally moves to the company's headquarter in Eitorf, Germany.

KL® Beschläge GmbH

Founding of the company ‚KL® BESCHLÄGE’ by KARL LOGGEN. Karl Loggen was known as a developer and inventor. His initial inventions mainly included products for interior design, such as innovative drawer systems. He quickly comes into contact with the glass industry and sees its potential. In the 1970's he developed the so called glass clamp, which is the worldwide standard today.

Megla® Technik GmbH

PETER REINECKE JOINS ‚MEGLA® TECHNIK GMBH’. Peter Reinecke originally specialized in international management and finance. He studied business and theology in North America. When his father asked him to support him in the management of the 'Megla® Technik GmbH' he started with 25% of the company. After Karl-Otto Reinecke left the company, Peter Reinecke took over 'Megla® Technik GmbH'.

Automatic Door Systems

In cooperation with a Japanese manufacturer, KARL-OTTO REINECKE LAUNCHES AUTOMATIC DOORS IN THE GERMAN MARKET. He also develops special- and functional systems as well as innovative light ceiling- and floor systems that can still be found in numerous national and international objects: Cologne/Bonn Airport, Cologne Philharmonic Hall, Plenary Hall of the German Bundestag in Bonn.

Megla® Technik

KARL-OTTO REINECKE founds the 'MEGLA TECHNIK' company in Cologne. In the 1960's he worked intensively on the development and expansion of modern, thermally insulated aluminum frame systems and frameless glazing. Together with Klaus Arp and Hans-Gerd Greferath (later director of DORMA Glas) Karl-Otto Reinecke developed the studio door system – today a classic, back then a global novelty.

The foundation-stone was laid in Cologne

Founding of the company ‚GLASEREI REINECKE’ by KARL REINECKE in Cologne. The company is growing steadily and Karl Reinecke quickly established himself as a major player in the glass industry. Over time, he even made it to the top of the German glass trade. In 1952 his son, "Master Glazier" Karl-Otto Reinecke joined the company.
